MABS, clear ABS (clear ABS or ABS-tr)

MABS is often called transparent ABS. MABS is often used as an alternative to PC.

Why choose it?

  • Transparent
  • Relatively good chemical resistance. MABS is commonly used in hospitals.
  • Resistance to stress-cracking compared to average amorphous plastics.
  • Fair impact resistance.

Why not choose it?

  • Poor UV resistance.

Typical applications:

  • Packaging for cosmetics
  • Hospital products

MABS is not very commonly used which is surprising considering its qualities.
