TPE-O

TPE-O is a blend of PP and unvulcanized EPDM rubber particles.

Why choose it?

  • Inexpensive
  • Good impact strength
  • Easy to process
  • Paint adhesion

Why not choose it?

  • Performance in elevated temperature is limited.
  • Elastic properties and hardness range are limited. Not very soft; poor compression behavior.
  • Competing products offer a better appearance. I haven’t seen TPE-O used in a 2k product.

Typical applications:

  • Car bumpers
  • Rubbery parts on snowboard bindings
  • Soft grip on a golf club
